My Dutch Warmblood Horse has the perfect build for being in front of a carriage. Under the saddle, however, his huge withers and bouncy gait make it difficult to sit his trot.
Through some rough play with another horse, he managed to get himself a pretty good scratch, just behind his withers. Exactly where a saddle or harness was put. I decided to try and ride him bareback, which no one probably ever had. Trot was just impossible.
After researching a few types of bareback pad, I got hold this one. What made me go for a Barefoot is the well thought-through design and the fact that it's one of few pads with a good girthing system on their BBP.
It's heaven to ride on. It's well cushioned and I feel as secure as I do in any saddle. My horse relaxes so much more under this pad, while still feeling all my movements. I barely bounce in the trot and have much improved my seat through riding with the pad.
They're a bit pricey, but I'd recommend Barefoot Bareback Pads to anyone!
