Barefoot Physio Ride-On Bareback Pads

The Barefoot Physio Ride-On Bareback Pads incorporate a special section underneath for optional foam inserts. This section is attached with Velcro� and the pad is provided with 2 different sets of inserts. One is dense foam and the other is soft PU foam. This pad offers great Physio properties and a saddle-less ride that won't harm your horse. Inserting the foam inserts give additional protection to your horse's back and ensures clearance from the spine. Specifically recommended for very slender riders and heavy riders. Also for horses that have visible spinal processes and badly muscled backs. Suitable also for older horses.

Most bareback pads or riding cushions can be bad for a horse, causing discomfort. Usually caused by their girths running directly across the back, which distributes all pressure into one or possibly two spinous processes. This Barefoot Physio Ride-On Pad has V-girthing with fleece-lined Billet Patches which works to distribute pressure along the entire pad. Also, there are no stirrup attachments, as pressure points would occur when standing in stirrups.

The Ride-On pad's high density foam padding in alternate thicknesses is extremely stable on your horse's back. The properties of the Sympanova material on the pad's underside makes the pad non-slip, while the upper side is made of microfiber. The upper ensures good grip for riders, even at speed. The horse-friendly girthing has patches with 100% sheep fleece on the underside. This stabilizes the girthing, and doesn't irritate your horse's coat along the side. The Bareback Pad can be used in combination with the Barefoot Sheepskin Dressage Girth or any other dressage style girth.

The design of the pad incorporates a sturdy nylon grab handle, and D-rings for attaching bags.

To Clean:

Clean the pad with a damp cloth or a soft brush.
If very dirty, remove inserts, and it can be washed in the washing machine on gentle cycle.
Do NOT put it in the dryer.

When should I use additional padding in the Bareback pad? The Barefoot Physio Bareback Pad comes with the two sets of inserts to provied extra back and wither clearance.

It is important that the Bareback pad lays as level as possible on the horse when viewed from the side, meaning that front and rear should be at the same height.Therefore, it can sometimes be necessary to insert an additional piece of rubber foam in parts of the pad: i.e. in case the horse is higher at the croup, you simply use a second layer of padding, whereas a horse with broad shoulders needs a lift-up in the rear.
